2026 Budget Update: Proposed Real Estate Tax Adjustment
To Our Residents:
As part of the 2026 budget planning process, the West Rockhill Township Board of Supervisors is proposing a real estate tax increase of 2.5 mills. This adjustment is necessary to address a structural fiscal imbalance primarily driven by rising public safety costs, including a significant increase in the Pennridge Regional Police Department budget for 2026.
Impact on Property Owners
We understand that tax increases impact household budgets, and we want to be transparent about what this cost looks like for the average homeowner.
Based on the median property assessment in West Rockhill Township:
Proposed Increase: 2.5 Mills
Estimated Annual Cost: Approximately $73.00 per year (based on the median assessment calculation of $29.20 per mill).
New Millage Rate: The total millage rate would move from 7.25 mills to 9.75 mills.
Why is this happening?
While Township general revenue has grown at an average of 3.8% annually, police budget costs have outpaced this growth, projected to consume 51% of the General Fund in 2026. This adjustment ensures we can continue to fund essential services, public works, and public safety without compromising the financial stability of the Township.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Supervisors of West Rockhill Township will hold a public hearing on December 17, 2025 as part of its 7:00 PM regular meeting at the Township administrative offices at 1028 Ridge Road, Sellersville, PA 18960 to consider for approval the conditional use application described below. ALL INTERESTED PARTIES ARE INVITED TO ATTEND.
